About Chuck

Born and raised in Alpharetta, Chuck met Johnna in college – they married and purchased their first home in unincorporated Alpharetta.  Johnna and Chuck moved to their current Alpharetta address in 1992 where they still live and where they raised their two sons, Miles and Lance, both graduates of Milton High School and the University of Georgia.  Miles is in his seventh year of teaching and coaching in Georgia public schools.  Lance is an Operations Director for Aldi and lives along with his wife Mary Beth and their twins in Concord, NC.

First elected by his Alpharetta neighbors to serve on the Alpharetta City Council in 1992, Chuck focused on keeping taxes low and wrote a city budget in May 1995 that paid for a $17m transportation and parks bond issue without a tax increase – without Chuck's budget the bonds would have required taxpayers to pay more.  Following the adoption of the tax saving budget and with the encouragement of his neighbors Chuck ran for and was elected Alpharetta Mayor in 1995, serving until May 2002.  At that time, again, with the encouragement and support of those he represented, Chuck ran for and won a seat in the Georgia House of Representatives where he serves as your local voice at the State Capitol working for lower taxes.
